Ocean Beach has a large homeless population. We see these people, chat with them and help them out with a buck here and there. But all the handouts and good will in the world don’t add up to enough money to pay rent. As rising rent is squeezing more and more ordinary people out of their homes (and allowing landlords to live ever-more luxurious lifestyles), the number of homeless people is increasing.
